Our Community Survey
A note to our community
Just like any other human, we have to learn how to take our first steps.
Wayfarer is still in the early phase of its life: all the design, engineering, prototypes, and new beginnings. But the most important part of what we’re creating can’t be drawn in a CAD file: it has to be shaped by the people who actually live with mobility aids.
That’s why we’re sending out our community survey.
We’re building mobility aids that feel less like “medical equipment” and more like a considered, design-led movement accessory. We know it has to be so many things to so many people: functional, beautiful, and made for real life. If we get this right, it will be because our community helped set the standard from the beginning.
Why your input matters (especially right now)
As a start-up, we have one advantage: we can listen early and build intentionally from your guidance.
Your responses help us:
Prioritise the features that actually change day-to-day comfort and confidence
Understand the moments where stigma shows up (and how design can soften it)
Avoid any assumptions — about bodies, lifestyles, identities, and needs
Create language, visuals, and community spaces that feel respectful, not performative
Build something that fits into your life, rather than asking you to adapt to it
If you’ve ever looked at your current options and thought, “This wasn’t made for me?” This is the moment to tell us what “for me” looks like.

We’re looking for a small handful of people to participate in deeper video interviews (online, or in person across Melbourne, Sydney, or Adelaide) to help shape Wayfarer from the ground up.
These interviews will be recorded so we can share selected clips on Wayfarer social media (and related channels). Your voice and lived experience deserve to be seen, represented well, and valued.
As a thank you, interview participants will be welcomed into our First Movers community.
First Movers is different to our general community. Our broader community is for anyone, anywhere who wants to follow along, participate, and belong.
First Movers is a smaller, higher-touch group for early adopters who want closer access and a real say in what we build next.
